Identity for buldingSMART – openLAB

buildingSMART is the worldwide authority driving the transformation of the built asset economy through creation and adoption of open, international standards.

buildingSMART Norway approached us to help them kick off their new innovation program, openLAB, with a new identity, branding them as an arena for innovation – beyond just being an organization of open standards.

The logo for openLAB is based of the buildingSMART organization logo, with the four linked frames opened up and pulled part to create a dynamic space. It is a system that is flexible to whichever content it's holding, adjusting to the format present – with the elements being used to highlight or fram whatever is in focus.

We've developed a kit of tools to clarify their position as an innovation arena - with a defined, yet flexible, system which makes the identity appear comprehensive and recognizable across all surfaces. We have an ongoing collaboration with buildingSMART Norway to further develop the identity and their communication assets.
